Ted is a founding partner of Parable and began his career in financial services with Thrivent in 1994, when he had a full head of hair. He enjoys coming alongside families to find purpose, contentment and confidence through financial planning. Ted is particularly passionate about charitable planning and legacy strategies.

“Who do you and your family get to be because of your wealth?” is one of Ted’s favorite questions because he believes that the work we do is not just about money, but what money makes possible.

Thrivent Charitable inducted Ted to the Hall of Honor in 2008 for his work in philanthropy. In 2012, Lutheran Social Services of MN presented the Contag family the Changing Lives Award for their commitment and work with homeless youth. Ted’s service and years of service were recognized in 2015 as he was inducted into Thrivent’s Hall of Fame.

Ted loves to travel, read, and carve out family time with his wife and sons at their cabin in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. Ted works to leave every situation better than he found it, both in his work and in his personal life, and is a champion of clean energy initiatives.

Ted holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Communications with a minor in German Language Studies from the University of Kansas. He did further studies at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, Germany and retains his fluency in the German language.

bruce.ensrud@parablewealth.com

Bruce is a founding partner of Parable and began his career in financial services with Thrivent in 1992. That was shortly after he earned 141 strikeouts during his pitching career at Gustavus. While Bruce is still several years away from being retired – his arm is!

A Minneapolis native with strong Scandinavian roots, Bruce values relationships and is as humble as they come. And that’s why he would never tell you that he is consistently recognized for his exemplary service to individuals, families and organizations in creating impactful charitable giving:

Bruce was first named a Thrivent Charitable Voice in Philanthropy (VIP) in 2008 when the program started and has been Thrivent Charitable VIP – Hall of Honor member since 2015.

In 2017, Bruce earned honorable mention for the Catalyst Award, through Invest in Others, a national program, for his work as a Sheridan Story (now Every Meal) board member.

Bruce was inducted to the Thrivent Hall of Fame in 2018.

When Bruce isn’t serving clients, you’ll find him serving on the board of directors for several organizations including Every Meal, GMCC, Mount Olivet Rolling Acres, and the Collegeville Institute.

Bruce and his family are long-standing members of Mount Olivet Church in Victoria. In the summer you’ll find them sharing a love of cheering on the Minnesota Twins.

Wealth Coach & Founding Partner

chris.mongeon@parablewealth.com

Chris is a Wealth Advisor and founding partner of Parable Wealth. He specializes in working alongside families and individuals to help identify and remove the common worries, fear, and stress that can accompany finances. Chris collaborates with his team to help clients discover a different story - one full of hope and contentment.

Chris fervently believes that working with a financial planner is not just about “retirement goals.” An advisor should act as a financial coach and provide support, education and accountability as you pursue all your financial goals.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Aviation from University of North Dakota. (Bet you didn’t see that one coming!) He was also the mascot for a semi-pro basketball team, the Magic City Snowbears.

These days, Chris still has a love of travel and has visited over 40 countries so far. He also enjoys supporting small restaurants and spending time at his family cabin in northern Minnesota.

Chris has served as a volunteer in Thailand, Portugal and Peru, and has served for eight years on the board of directors for Way to Grow of Minneapolis, an early-childhood education non-profit.
